What is a social entrepreneur?
There are many different definitions of social entrepreneurship. What most of them have in common is a desire to address the challenges in our communities in innovative ways, using approaches that are normally applied in the world of business. The solutions will often benefit third parties that are not directly involved. Social entrepreneurs can be found in the public, private and voluntary sectors.
Our social entrepreneurs
TD Veen has chosen to invest in three fields of social entrepreneurship: work – and social inclusion, sustainable food, and circularity. All of our social entrepreneurs are either in the start-up or development phase of building a sustainable company, product or services.
Collaboration between the social entrepreneur and TD Veen involves the leasing of office space for a period of between one and three years. Throughout this period, entrepreneurs will contribute to the Samfunnssentralen community both socially and with their know-how. In return, they receive skills training, mentoring and sparring from both TD Veen and their fellow social entrepreneurs. TD Veen also contributes with financial support for the entrepreneur’s project.
This is how you can become one of our social entrepreneurs
First of all, check that you meet our criteria. Then fill out and send an application form, with a brief description of your idea. Also send your business plan to anja@samfunnssentralen.no. The next thing that happens is that we will contact you. Initially we will send you a confirmation that we have received your application. If your idea is interesting enough for us to offer you a place, we will contact you by phone or e-mail. This may take up to six weeks. Then, based on your plans and our resources, we will agree on how to proceed. Good luck!
